Our Latino Summer Music event was an unforgettable experience, filled with vibrant rhythms and delicious Latin flavors.

Mexico’s rich culinary traditions seamlessly fused with the tastes of other Latin cultures, creating a perfect blend of music, food, and joy.

What made this event even more special was the remarkable musical program. The performances featured both the talented staff of Sabor Sabor they are students from the prestigious Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory.

Their passion and skill added incredible value to the day, making the music an extraordinary highlight.

We spent a wonderful summer afternoon celebrating the richness of Latin culture, with melodies and tastes that will stay with us long after the sun has set. It was a true showcase of Latin flavors experience-one that will remain a cherished memory of our summer.

On September 4th, 2024, we at Sabor Sabor had the incredible honor of being recognized by the

Mexican government

for our dedication to authentic Mexican cuisine.

Under the leadership of Liz Derflingher Fernández, our restaurant was awarded for being one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Netherlands.

This prestigious recognition celebrates the hard work, passion, and commitment to delivering authentic flavors from Mexico to the heart of Rotterdam. Liz’s vision has always been to bring a genuine Mexican experience to our guests, and this award is a testament to that dedication.

In September 2024, Sabor Sabor was proud to be part of the Mexican Independence Day celebrations in The Hague, where we offered a special selection of dishes to the Mexican community and friends. Our carefully curated menu brought a taste of home to those far from Mexico, and the response was nothing short of amazing.

We presented three classic Mexican dishes that received rave reviews:

• Birria de Res – A slow-cooked beef stew, rich in flavor and perfect for soaking up with fresh tortillas.
• Pollo con Mole Poblano – Tender chicken smothered in a traditional mole sauce made from a blend of over 20 ingredients, including chocolate and chiles.
• Champiñones al Pibil – A vegetarian favorite, mushrooms marinated in a Yucatán-style achiote sauce, baked to perfection.

Each dish was accompanied by our famous homemade salsas, including the bold and smoky Salsa Machaand the spicy Serrano Salsa. These sauces added an extra layer of depth to the meal, enhancing the flavors and giving our guests the authentic taste they’ve been craving.

The event was a huge success, and we were deeply touched by the recognition and gratitude shown by the Mexican community. We are committed to continuing to bring the best of Mexico to the Netherlands, and we can’t wait to serve you at our next event.

This September 2024, Sabor Sabor brought the vibrant flavors of Mexico’s Independence Day to Rotterdam, and it was a resounding success! We crafted a special Independence Day menu to honor this important Mexican holiday, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it.

We kicked off the celebration with our Tricolor Starter, a dish designed to mirror the colors of the Mexican flag, setting the tone for an authentic culinary experience. Guests then enjoyed the rich and hearty Pozole, a traditional hominy soup that’s a staple of Mexican celebrations.

The highlight of the event was our incomparable Chiles en Nogada-astuffed poblano pepper with a walnut cream sauce and pomegranate seeds, which represents the Mexican flag’s colors. This dish, known for its complexity and unique blend of flavors, was a crowd favorite, with many praising its delicate balance of sweet and savory.

To finish, we delighted guests with Buñuelos drizzled in a rich piloncillo syrup-theperfect dessert to cap off the celebration.
